Fire Chief
Rhys Williams

 
Chief Williams is the department head responsible for management of the area's fire & EMS.  His duties range from operations oversight and personnel management to scene control and budget planning.  Chief Williams is no desk bound paper pusher.  He can often be found responding to calls in the middle of the night and on weekends. 
 

 
Biography:  Chief Rhys Williams has been employed in the fire & EMS field for over two decades.  Chief Williams was employed by Eureka Springs Fire Department prior to his 2002 departure to serve as Assistant Chief for Holiday Island Fire Department .  He returned to ESFD to take the chief's position in 2009. 
 
Chief Williams is a long time residence of the area.  He is married and has four children.

Assistant Fire Chief /Fire Marshal

Jimmy Kelley


 
Fire Marshal Jimmy Kelley is responsible for not only the fire code and inspection part of the department, but also oversees the department's C Shift.  Chief Kelley runs calls with his crew and in turn utilizes their assistance to perform city fire inspections.  Chief Kelley is a strong supporter of the department's Fire Wise program.  He is an EMT-Intermediate.

Assistant Fire Chief--EMS
Bob Pettus

 
Assistant Chief Bob Pettus is in charge of A Shift and oversees the department's aggresive EMS program.  He is a paramedic, firefighter, and an instructor.  His teaching and guidance has kept Eureka Springs Fire Department in the forefront of providing excellent patient care.  Chief Pettus is a widely known instructor and conference speaker.  He can often be found on his days off lecturing on advanced emergency care to doctors, nurses and paramedics.

Assistant Fire Chief--Administration
Tom Dransfield

 
B Shift is the responsibility of Assistant Chief Tom Dransfield.  Chief Dransfield has roughly thirty years in the fire & EMS field.  He started as a volunteer firefighter and became a paramedic in 1990.  Chief Dransfield worked at a busy department in the Dallas/Ft. Worth metro area prior to coming to Eureka Springs.

Assistant Fire Chief--Volunteer Operations
Bobby Kelley

 
Though not a paid staff member, Chief Bob Kelley still carries the rank and authority of any other assistant chief.  He coordinates the volunteers and frequently oversees fire scene operations.  Chief Kelley is known for his easy going personality and for his unhurried pace when commanding an emergency.  If the name sounds familiar, it's because Chief Bob Kelley is brother to Chief Jimmy Kelley, listed above.
