The Eureka Springs Fire Department is a combination department, meaning that it has both paid and volunteer staffing.  The department provides fire suppression services for the city of Eureka Springs and an associated rural fire district.  ESFD also provides ambulance services for western Carroll County through a contract with the Western District, which oversees EMS for half of the county.

The Eureka Springs Fire Department is part of the Arkansas Fire Wise project.  The Fire Wise project is the planned removal of undergrowth in areas prone to dangerous undergrowth fires.  Clearing has been completed in many areas of the fire district to eliminate flammable brush and debris.
